Regular Price: $9.99
Special Price: $3.00
Bill Kaiwa is an accomplished singer, songwriter and composer, one of Hawaiian music's rare gems. Born in Honolulu, Kaiwa spent his childhood in Papakolea before moving to Kaua`i to work as a paniolo (hawaiian cowboy) on Kipukai Ranch. It was there, through the encouragement of his father, that Kaiwa immersed himself in Hawaiian language and culture. Kaiwa began his career performing at the Moana Surfrider Hotel in Waikîkî, where he performed for six years; he was also on the bill for 12 years at the Kuhio. He was a regular vocalist on the "Hawaii Calls" radio show, hosted by Webley Edwards, which broadcast real traditional Hawaiian music from Waikiki internationally. Kaiwa also headlined the group Bill Kaiwa & The Maile Serenaders. Bill Kaiwa offers his recognizable baritone talents to Na Halia, a collection of traditional Hawaiian songs that have the power to evoke a fond remembrance. The 16-track album features songs like "Waikiki" and "Ke Ala Tuberose" that have the staying power to last generations.
