Sean Na’auao has developed as an artist, composer and producer and this CD reflects the many hits he’s enjoyed showing us how many times he’s gotten it right.  As you listen to this body of work, you will find so many gems and understand why Sean Na’auao is richly deserving of all the Na Hoku Hanohano awards he’s won over the years.

Sean can’t remember a time when music wasn’t a part of his life.  His career in music encompasses everything including composing original songs, producing himself and other artists, lead and background singer, bandleader, concert promoter as well as the founder of an independent record label, Poi Pounder.  As a founding member of the Mana’o Company, that made a huge mark on the local music scene and is still heard on radio today, Sean began his legacy of hits garnering radio play and sales.  His repertoire runs from the most contemporary of island music to the heartfelt traditional Hawaiian mele.

For Love
$15.98

"For Love, sounds like it should be the aural equivalent of a particularly slushy rom-com. Thankfully the Maui-born songstress has avoided the temptation to drench her lovelorn lyrics with sickly sweet melodies and schmaltzy strings, and instead has impressively managed to produce a genuinely warm and effortlessly summery record which might even charm those who curse the Feb 14 celebrations...A quietly seductive affair, For Love suggests that when it comes to the ‘female Jack Johnson' label, Colbie Caillat may now have some competition." -Jon O'Brian, Rovi

Anuhea's signature guitar rhythms and song writing weave soul, R&B, jazz, and reggae to achieve a seductive pop sound with an independent attitude ala Lily Allen and Gwen Stefani. Her debut album 'Anuhea' hit the top ten on the iTunes Pop charts and World Billboard Charts. In 2010 Anuhea won Most Promising Artist and Contemporary Album of the Year at Hawaii's prestigious Na Hoku Hanohano Awards. She performed alongside her inspiration Jack Johnson at the Kokua Festival in Honolulu, and headlined two U.S. Tours backed by her friends, reggae band The Green.

SALE: Global Citizen

Regular Price: $15.98

Special Price: $2.00

World beat, Reggae and Afro Pop, suited for global audience promoting peace through upbeat music

Lucien Kouassi was born in the Ivory Coast, West Africa, where he was taught the guitar and sight reading by American folk singer, Lisa Sammet, then Peace Corps volunteer in his country.
This set him on a musical journey that began in West Africa, trailed across Europe, and finally the USA, where he acquired a degree in Music and Business at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This is why Jamallad is said to be one of the greatest beneficiaries of the Peace Corps

In his formative years Lucien studied Classical Guitar and Folk, to later cross over to Pop, Rock, Reggae. However, the west African Music Cavasha, which is the precedent to Soukous and Makossa is the undertone of Lucien’s music.

At the end of the College years Lucien became known as JAMALLAD and has since been writing and performing music that explores the human condition in a distinctive style that is his own. The repertoire reflects the global culture that Jamallad has so fortunately enjoyed. He sings in various languages

s.Backed by four other musicians he packed clubs form Eastern Pennsylvania to the Jersey shore ( Long Beach Island), Through Delaware, Ocean City Maryland, Virginia Beach, and every coastal state southward to the Florida Keys ( Key West) for Spring breaks for several years before relocating to Los Angeles.

Now in Hawaii, Jamallad has teamed up with partner Chetanaa Petra Zoeller to co-write and produce a world class album titled Global Citizen which is about to come out. A must hear album.

Lucien has always understood himself as a messenger, and uses his music as a vehicle.

Jamallad’s Music is conscious music

His music brings important messages across in a fun, upbeat way. His talent and inspiration allow him to communicate to a broad audience, in various musical styles; i.e.
World, Reggae, Rock, Pop, Afro Pop, and Folk.
The topics range from world peace, environmental issues, to relations( from personal to global). Some songs are just plain fun dance songs.

Goals
As an artist, I want to reach as many people around the world as possible. I want to have a positive impact with my music, provide for myself, my loved ones, and all those who are involved. I seek to educate, inform and stimulate while entertaining. Making music is as vital to me as breathing.

The Music and Us
For the longest time, artists, by enlarge have talked about a big “ They “,
separating ourselves from the responsibility of it all.
We believe that the talent of music that we have gives us a great tool for
Communication .
Freedom of speech makes it possible for people in the arts, especially music,
To freely talk about any and everything. Lots has been sung about: love, sex, anger
Etc…
It is our belief that in our days, music is a great tool for unifying, raising awareness,
sharing our common Hopes, fears, aspirations, and for giving comfort. We believe in a
humanitarian purpose to the music we make.
It is a window to the soul, yours and ours. We feel blessed that the world is listening
To the voice of wisdom that comes through us. We therefore aim at making music that serves
Humankind.

How This Album Came About

In November 2005 I landed on Maui, Hawaii, full of hope.
Little did I know what I was in for. I suffered a fall that would partially paralyze
me. With this unfortunate accident came my greatest blessing, for it lead me to
Chetanaa and Tana.
The mother and her nine year old son took me into their home, and embarked
on a difficult journey with me. It was the compassion and love they had for me,
that created the magic: In order to help my spirit stay strong, Chetanaa offered to facilitate the production of this album, thus giving me a purpose. As I kept getting worse, she set everything aside,
and I became her full time occupation. ( By the way, did I mention that I was completely broke and uninsured ?)
The Neurosurgeon’s prognosis was very debilitating for someone hoping for a singing career. My voice,
I was told would never be the same. It felt like a death sentence. Hence, I postponed the surgery , prioritizing the album, in the event that I would never sing again after surgery. However I could no longer postpone it when my condition became unbearable. This album is proof that I came out of surgery victorious.
It is the greatest gift of love that I have received since my birth. I am sharing this gift of a second chance with the world .

The Green
$15.98
Four extraordinary talents, one scene-shaking reggae band.

That’s The Green, four boys hailing from Hawaii who burst out 2010 with their self-titled debut album. Amazingly for a new band, the disc rocketed onto Billboard’s 2010 Year-End Top 10 Reggae Chart, was honored as iTunes’ Reggae Album of the Year, won Best Reggae Album at Hawaii’s 2011 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards, and has sold over 20,000 copies.

The four members of The Green take pride in the pop-burnished roots reggae style they’ve cooked up—edgy enough to make tastemakers sit up and take notice, yet accessible to all ages “from little tiny kids, to people who just want to rock, to grandmas and grandpas who just love music,” says guitarist-singer Zion Thompson. Four distinct voices, four sharp songwriting talents, masterful musicianship, and monster grooves add up to one exceptional band with an unforgettable sound and a powerful story. Learn More
