I am so happy to present this album to you! I've had such a wonderful time working on it and now I finally get to share it with you all! Every recording I have done has been a steppingstone, a path leading me to where I am today. From my first recording entitled "Hawaiian Man" to "Spread A Little Aloha" with the guys from THE MANA'O COMPANY, and then "Queen's Jubilee" with the guys from TAPA GROOVE have all been special moments in time culminating into this album entitled "KA LEHUA 'ULA"!

Inspirations? There are many. Challenges? Many of those too, but no matter what, never ever give-up on your dreams! Music has certainly grown to become my life's passion and I truly feel blessed to be able to do what I love. it has given me the opportunity to meet new people, travel the world and to experience new ideas, which in my opinion is what life is all about. I think you'll agree that anywhere you go in this world you'll fine there's a story to be told, a song to be sung and a lesson to be learned. The sum of these life experiences helps to create our charater. It implies we are all a product of our environment. If so, then I certainly stand upon the shoulders of giants. it's what I do, it's who I am. I am a music maker!

Every recording I have done so far has been a stepping stone, a path leading me to where I am today. Each one has been a special moment in time, culminating into this, my newest CD entitled “PILIALOHA”!

A close friendship, a beloved companion, and to be in a bond of love are all qualities associated with “PILIALOHA” the word, and “PILIALOHA” the album! Many of the compositions can certainly be considered love songs conveying affection, devotion and fondness.

New mele written by kumu hula ‘Iliahi Paredes includes Ku’u Lei Hiwahiwa, Aia Ka La’i i Ka’uiki and my favorite, Sila Pa’a Ke Aloha all lovingly written to honor a special person. Ka Pua Maka Onaona a song written for ‘Iliani’s daughter speaks of the little things he loves most about her. And E Ho’i Ke Aloha i Maunawili honors ‘Iliahi’s kupuna.

Ryan Hiraoka (aka "RSP") is a self produced recording artist from the Big Island of Hawaii. Ryan first jumped on the music scene as a bassist for a variety of local acts. Ryan has performed with many of Hawaii's top recording artists. These artists include Damon Williams, Pomai & Loeka, Fiji, Jake Shimabukuro, The Manao Company, B.E.T., Three Plus, Lukela of Ekolu, RJ "Lanui" Kaneao, Mana Kaleilani Caceres, Kapena, Next Generation, Braddah Walter and Ilona Irvine.
Ryan is an educated musician that received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Ryan has been involved with the music business for over 14 years as a performer & has matured into a musical force as a recording artist. Ryan is also the founder of his own record label/music production company called "Rubbah Slippah Productions."

In 2006, Ryan released his debut album called "Big Island Music." The album proved to be a strong introduction as the hit single "Big Island Ladies" took over the airwaves of Hawaii. The "Big Island Ladies" music video was also broadcasted in heavy rotation on OC 16's "Overdrive Live" television show.

In 2007, Ryan released the highly acclaimed "RSP CREW (Vol. 1)" compilation album. The album featured a select group of local singers from the Big Island. The goal behind the compilation album was to showcase the undiscovered talent of the Big Island. The album was a breath of fresh air as numerous songs off the album hit radio stations statewide.

In 2008, Ryan looked to widen the genre of island music with the release of his follow up solo album called "Hawaii & Beyond." The effort was proven a success after Ryan was nominated for a "Na Hokuhanohano" award in the R&B album of the year category. The hit single "I'm Sorry" spawned a music video which has been broadcasted on OC16's "Dis N Dat" television show.
