Snapped on the go! Jon de Mello & Brother Noland have a quick mid-morning jam session in the TMAC studio.
Tomorrow night is the 2009 Na Hoku Hanohano Awards! This year we have decided to do something a little different. With 15 of our artists nominated for 33 categories, we have a lot to celebrate and a lot to share with everyone. So we decided to keep everyone updated from our table in the Audience and use Twitter to share photos, winners, and Tweets from our friends and artists. Bookmark our Twitter page which can be found at http://www.twitter.com/mountainappleco and feel free to ask questions and requests from the Artists you want to hear from and use this opportunity to be a apart of the Na Hoku's a little differently this year. It will be telecast live on K5 so join us online to create a new experience in Hawaiian Music's biggest night!

Brother Noland was asked to play a tribute show for the legendary Huddy "Lead Belly" Ledbetter this past Monday May 25th in Seattle, WA. It was hosted by Seattle's Always All Ages Music Venue the Vera Project. This was taken from the www.nwfolklife.org description of this tribute show:
"Help us pay homage to Huddy “Lead Belly” Ledbetter, one of the most influential folk blues musicians of all time. Working in conjunction with the Lead Belly Foundation, Folklife brings you a range of contemporary artists playing the songs that made Lead Belly famous. A sampling of the best folk, traditional and beyond musicians in the Northwest, Lead Belly’s music will be rebuilt and remembered in this new century. Alvin Singh, Lead Belly’s great-nephew, will represent the Lead Belly Foundation and will MC/DJ the show, introducing the various musical perspectives of this great artist."
This is an amatuer video of 2 songs from his set....Brother Noland Singing the BLUES! ENJOY!!!
If you have ever been to a Brother Noland Concert you know how much fun and energy he brings to his performances. So he is heading to his alma mater of Kamehameha Schools to celebrate the release of his new album "Hawaiian Man" This event is free and open to the public so come and celebrate with us at The Mountain Apple Company and Brother Noland...There is nothing worse than hearing about how fun the event you didn't go to was....
