Robert Cazimero at The Hawaii Theatre

Monday, September 12, 2011 3:23:18 PM Pacific/Honolulu

After Robert's triumphant "Hula Is" show at the Hawaii Theatre on August 26th, here are a few thoughts from the Kumu about what Hula is to him....

hula is...

thoughtful, jovial, fun-loving, game changing...

hula is...

gentle laughter bursting to guffaws crashing in tears...

hula is...

colors sweeping the air like falling confetti and infectious smiles know no boundaries...

hula is...

a captured room, swaying music and hearts finding solitude in old remembrances...

hula is...

girls swimming in blue white oceans with flowing trains, scented blossoms and abandoned euphoria...

hula is...

men incognito writing holidays on the air and lights playing musical chairs in the shadows...

hula is...

touching hearts and holding hands, one by one, in gratitude for doing, living, loving what we do...

we of the DANCE kind... we of the HULA kind... we of the LIFE kind... may the force always be with us...

Robert Cazimero: Hula rocks!

Monday, August 8, 2011 1:37:39 PM Pacific/Honolulu

On July 5th, Robert Cazimero released his new solo CD, Hula.

"In my life, I’ve been lucky enough to learn from the best; to dance on stage; to teach this remarkable art form and to be rewarded in both tangible and intangible ways for dedicating a big part of my life to hula. I’ve been all the more lucky in that my career has been in music and I’ve been able to sing some of the most beautiful music that hula is danced to as well as compose some hula mele (songs) that have been danced by many." -- Robert Cazimero

To celebrate the release of Hula, we have a FREE song download available! Check it out!

Here's what some people are saying about Hula:

"Hula–showcases his distinctive voice, and traditional Hawaiian songs are instantly recognizable; its musicality is cared for, and its message is loud and clear." -- The Honolulu Weekly

"Few have his savvy of elocution and enunciation to tell his stories-in-song, of lovely hula hands, of crashing waves on the beaches, whether in Hawaiian or in English. -- Wayne Harada, Star Advertiser

“What a nice album, only Robert could make ‘Lovely Hula Hands’ his own.” -- Mike Kelly, Cox Radio Hawaii

“Just purchased "Hula" and absolutely love it.” -- Dennis Mahaffay, Anthology Group
