Ten years have elapsed since the release of From the Valley to the Throne, Ata’s first beloved collection of gospel hymns. Somewhere Up Ahead continues his family legacy and remarkable sharing of the hymns he learned in his childhood days under the tutelage of his mother, Gwen Damasco, and maternal grandfather, Rev. Alfred “Papa” ChuHing. The support from his Maui friends and musicians, Ahumanu (Liz Morales & Joni DeMello), Kaiolohia Funes Smith and Cody Pueo Pata, underpin and sustain Ata’s glorious vocals and inspired musicianship.
